DESCRIPTION:Individuals and groups can raise money for area non-profits while cleaning up Hopewell Township! FoHVOS partners with Hopewell Township to participate in this statewide program to keep our public spaces clean and provide funds to non-profits. We will provide trash bags\, gloves\, and vests. We welcome all groups and individuals to participate – we have over 100 designated cleanup sites! Volunteers under the age of 13 earn $6/hour and volunteers 13 and up earn $8/hour for the non-profit of their choice. Email bcraighead@fohvos.org for more details.

SUMMARY:Spring Bird Hike
DESCRIPTION:FoHVOS is co-sponsoring a hike with the Washington Crossing Audubon Society (WCAS) at the Mount Rose Preserve. Join FoHVOS Land Steward Beth Craighead and birding enthusiast Sharyn Magee of the WCAS for an early morning walk to look and listen for early spring migrants. The walk will run throughout the morning\, but you can leave early if you need to. The Mount Rose Preserve is a nearly 400-acre preserve that is co-owned by FoHVOS\, NJCF\, Hopewell Township and Mercer County. The preserve is a mosaic of forest\, shrubland\, and meadow\, and is home to many rare and threatened species. To register email jsnyder@fohvos.org. \nMount Rose Preserve is owned and managed by New Jersey Conservation Foundation\, Friends of Hopewell Valley Open Space\, Hopewell Township\, and Mercer County. It was preserved in partnership with the following additional organizations: Hopewell Valley Citizens Group Inc.\, NJ Green Acres Program\, Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association\, Lawrence Hopewell Trail\, Hopewell Borough\, Pennington Borough\, Friends of Princeton Open Space\, D&R Greenway Land Trust\, Lawrence Township and Princeton.
