Hopewell Borough Park Bat Walk
September 17 @ 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Did you know that nine species of bats can be found in New Jersey? Bats are a critical part of our ecosystem, as they are a major predator of nocturnal insects. As part of our Conservation Connections: Restoring Nature in Hopewell Borough project, funded by the American Water Charitable Foundation, we have installed bat nesting boxes near Bedens Brook to support local species.
Join us on a guided walk through the park to learn about bat ecology, the importance of bats, and to see science in action as we set up an acoustic monitoring device to collect data on the abundance and diversity of our local bat population.
Please bring a headlamp or flashlight and wear good walking shoes.
